When is tie as good as a win?

The ninety-fifth minute blog celebrates the 95th minute goal by Jonathan Bornstein and the US team to tie Costa Rica 2-2 and win the CONCACAF championship. Mexico loses to Trinidad. What a night. Edge of the seat stuff for US soccer fans. South Africa here we come!!!

  2. All the way Brother! Of course all of the goals were at the opposite end of the field from where I was sitting.

What a fanstastic atmosphere! Ole Ole Ole Ole, Ole Ticos! USA USA USA! Awesome. It started in the subway and continued in the game.

The Ticos fans were cheering for the first 70 minutes, we were cheering at the end. In the 9th minute fans help up "9" signs for forward Charlie Davies who was seriously injured in a car crash Tuesday morning. That was pretty cool. Both sides of fans were in good spirits and I saw no problems at all except for one drunk USA fan that made an ass out of himself in front of his girlfriend (good luck with that buddy) and was escourted out by some rather large security personnel. My only complaint is that both times I went to the concession stand I was told that the hotdogs weren't ready yet. Really! You weren't expecting fans would want to eat!

    USA 1st
    Mexico 2nd
    Honduras 3rd
Coasta Rica in a playoff against the #5 South American team, Go Ticos!

If we get the World Cup in 2018 or 2022 any games in our area will be in Baltimore or at Fedex. RFK simply can't handle it. That stadium needs to be torn down and replaced. The state of the facilities tonight was a disgrace.

    Off to South Africa!
